Feedback.
Bio, promotional copy is all good, but what do think AFTER they heard you live, or watched your DVD?
Is it good enough to get people “who spent money,” excuse me, invested in your program to go out of their way to send you feedback? It doesn’t matter what you think? Or your friends think? What matters is the person who invested the money in your tools.
The feedback on Own The Stage is just starting to roll in. Here is an e-mail I got moments ago.
“Darren and Craig,
Own the Stage arrived yesterday when I was at work. Even though I gave a speech last night at my Toastmasters club, I stayed up to watch most of the first DVD. I finished it this morning and started the second before work. I went home at lunch so I could watch more and I am nearly through the second DVD. There are so many valuable speaking points in just these first two DVDs that I am blown away. I knew to expect a lot and OTS is exceeding my high expectations. You guys are awesome!
Two high points just from the bit of time I watched during lunch were: 1) Darren’s reminder (since I attended Get Coached to Speak) of maximizing the value of a critical moment in your story by using dialogue and re-living the change of emotion and 2) Craig’s story telling example that keeps the audience involved with the story. By mastering just those two short techniques this set is more than worth the investment and they only comprise a few minutes of the material.
I am excited about scheduling more speeches to use the material. You don’t own the stage just because you own Own the Stage - you have to use it.
